Sit Down Comedy Club brings comedy to Ipswich in the monthly Stitch in the ‘swich series.

This month features an incredible lineup featuring Kat Davidson, Granny Flaps and Kehau Jackson!

Kat Davidson
Who has 24 years comedy experience, brilliant stories and keeps the laughs coming, no matter who is in the audience? This lady….
Seeing Kat on stage is like visiting an old friend you haven’t met yet. She’s shared the stage with the world’s best comics (Stephen K Amos, Steven Wright, Dave Hughes to shamelessly name drop a few), tamed a shed full of drunk miners, kept a 21-year marriage off the rocks and is currently being parented by her ten year old.

Equally at home in a corporate venue or a room full of hens and bucks, Kat brings a fresh and intelligent view to her comedy. She tackles relationships, observations and random events with equal passion and her unique storytelling ability takes her audience along with her for the ride.

Granny Flaps
Lori Bell has comedy career has seen her collect a stack of awards including an Adelaide Fringe Award, as well as being a three time winner of both the Adelaide Comedy People’s Choice and Host of the Year. She recently finished a sold out season of the five star reviewed show ‘Lori Bell – Making Babies’ about her not so glamorous entrance into motherhood.

Bell also performs as her comedy alter ego Granny Flaps, where she has toured Australia with Puppetry of the Penis and performed at many Big Day Outs. This ukulele lady will have you laughing from beginning to end as she explores everything from love and lust in your golden years, to the joys of a Friday night in your 20s.

Lori was the MC for Winter Comfest in 2019 alongside Dane Simpson and Nazeem Hussain and MC’d again in 2022 alongside The Kransky Sisters, Zoe Coombs Marr and Sam Taunton.
Lori has also worked as an actor having starred in the ABC TV series Lost in Pronunciation, toured with State Theatre, and won a Melbourne Greenroom Award for her work.

Kehau Jackson

She’s been called ‘Australia’s funniest Hawaiian comic’. (She’s been called other things as well, but a restraining order took care of that.)

A native of Hawaii, Kehau Jackson is a stand-up comic, writer and producer based in Adelaide, South Australia. She has been a regular on the local and national club scene since her arrival in 2002.

In 2007 Kehau was a founding member of the women’s comedy show “Titters!” which sold out the 2007 Adelaide Fringe Festival and won the People’s Choice Award. In 2011 she along with two other women comics wrote and performed ‘Three Stuffed Mums’ which included original music as well as stand up comedy. The show sold out two seasons at the Adelaide Fringe Festival, toured for 2 years including performances at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, and was nominated for Best Comedy by the Adelaide Theatre Guild. From 2015 Kehau has been a featured performer on cruise ships to the South Pacific and Asia, and was one of the first comics back onboard when cruising resumed post pandemic in June 2022. Besides continuing to entertain in clubs, pubs, community and sports venues, Kehau pens a quarterly column for the e-magazine ‘Aloha’ which services the Hawaii ex-pat market on the U.S. west coast. She has co-developed comedy courses for at-risk women in rural areas, and continues to lend her comedic talent to fundraisers for women’s health issues.

“…comedy legend Kehau Jackson brought a joyful take on modern-day politics to the stage with her dry humour. From her commentary on stupid people to her solution for Australia’s slow COVID vaccination roll out, Jackson generated laugh after laugh. It was disappointing she could not be afforded a lengthier set…” – OzAsia Festival Special Comedy Comedy Special 2021.

“…expertise and experience stand out…Kehau Jackson can really make a person laugh.” Adelaide Advertiser

“…naturally warm and funny, a fantastic presence on the South Australian scene.” Chortle

“Side splitting gags” Rip It Up
