Our monthly Stitch in the ‘swich Comedy Series is back for 2025!

This month’s ‘Queens of Comedy’ features an incredible line up of comedians including Fiona McGary, Angela Greensill, Jo Gowda, and Nan Chen!

Fiona McGary –

Fiona McGary’s comedy will put you at ease, loosen you up, draw you expectantly close and then throw you back in your seat with laughter! Her exceptionally original approach to comedy gigs leaves her audience sore from laughing while feeling motivated and inspired.

She has been performing standup comedy for over twenty years, both throughout Australia and overseas; and her performances have featured in The Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Adelaide Fringe Festival, Woodford Folk Festival and The Sydney Comedy Festival. She has performed in almost every comedy venue in the country alongside comedy legends such as Jimeoin, Adam Hills, Arj Barker, Judith Lucy, Wil Anderson and Dave Hughes.

Fiona has also appeared on various ABC TV shows, FMVTV (Seven Network) and Stand Up Australia (The Comedy Channel). Her voice has also been heard on numerous radio stations including Triple M Breakfast show, Hit105 FM, Hot Fm Gold Coast and she has also featured on the popular Home Grown Humour series that was broadcast Australia wide.

In 2006, Fiona was one of only a dozen comics throughout the country to be chosen to audition for The David Letterman Show. Her comedy writing talent has been utilized by The Courier Mail, Gold Coast Bulletin, Triple M, FHM magazine and in 2008, she was contracted by EA, the world’s largest gaming company to write a script for a new comedy based game (not yet released).

With her dynamic character and talented gift for comedy you should definitely see Fiona McGary now, before she becomes too famous to see anybody.

Angela Greensill –

The enigmatic Angela Greensill will keep you guessing.

Surprising and a bit messed up, her razor sharp wit is a sure crowd pleaser. Her punchline driven comedy really packs a punch and should not be missed.

Seasoned from performing at venues around the country, this up and coming talent is really hitting her stride.

As a professional writer, Angela is known for her well written jokes. Drawing on her colourful life experiences Angela will entertain you with thought provoking premises and a peppering of, ‘Did she really just say that?’ moments… And did she really write all of that about herself…

Jo Gowda –

Meet Jo, an Indian-born who captivates audiences with her razor-sharp wit and playful humour. A finalist in the esteemed RAW comedy competition in both 2019 and 2020, Jo has a knack for disarming her audience with her quick wit and mischievous charm.

Affectionately referring to herself as Australia’s second-best import (after cricket, of course), Jo’s comedy isn’t just about laughter; it’s a tool she uses to break barriers, shatter stereotypes, and incite thought. Growing up with strong South Indian roots while embracing her new life in Australia, Jo has crafted a unique comedic palate she fondly dubs ‘Great Barrier Beef’. It’s a delightful blend of her cultural heritage and her experiences in her adopted homeland.

Jo dreams of a day when her humour will inspire the world her mother to come and watch her perform.
